Sunday night's 70th annual Golden Globes caps a week that has seen the Oscar nominations and New York Film Critics Circle honors.
Now, letâs get funky!
Thatâs what the Hollywood Foreign Press Associationâs giddy event is for, while giving likely Oscar winners a chance to hone their humility and boosting front-runners. Here are the best bets for tonightâs show, at 8 p.m. on NBC.

Outside of the Emmys, the Golden Globe Awards is the yearâs biggest night for TV stars.
Winners can snag far more than just trophies â" they get major leverage when it comes time to renegotiate their multimillion-dollar salaries with television networks. Hereâs where weâre putting our money tonight:
BEST PICTURE (DRAMA)
âArgo,â âDjango Unchained,â âLife of Pi,â âLincoln,â âZero Dark Thirtyâ
âLincolnâ is cloaked in immense power. But âPiâ embraces world spirituality; that may click with the international HFPA.
BEST PICTURE (MUSICAL/COMEDY)
âBest Exotic Marigold Hotel,â âLes Miserables,â âMoonrise Kingdom,â âSalmon Fishing in the Yemen,â âSilver Linings Playbookâ
Though a lot of weird love went to âSalmon,â âLes Mizâsâ dream of an Oscar boost will come true.

ABC's "Modern Family," which stars sexy Sofia Vergara, is favorite in Best TV Series-comedy category.
DIRECTOR
Ben Affleck, âArgoâ; Kathryn Bigelow, âZero Dark Thirtyâ; Ang Lee, âLife of Piâ; Steven Spielberg, âLincolnâ; Quentin Tarantino, âDjango Unchainedâ
Spielberg is no alien to the Globes, with 12 nominations (and 2 wins). Yet Lee has won two of three. If Spielberg loses, itâs because the HFPA canât quit Lee.
ACTOR (DRAMA)
Daniel Day-Lewis, âLincoln;â Richard Gere, âArbitrage;â John Hawkes, âThe Sessions;â Joaquin Phoenix, âThe Master;â Denzel Washington, âFlightâ
Day-Lewis should just carry a bag around to put his awards in.
ACTRESS (DRAMA)
Jessica Chastain, âZero Dark Thirty;â Marion Cotillard, âRust and Bone;â Helen Mirren, âHitchcock;â Naomi Watts, âThe Impossible;â Rachel Weisz, âThe Deep Blue Seaâ
âZero Dark Thirtyâsâ tough politics may not jell with the HFPA; bad news for Chastain. Look for Wattsâ turn in a tsunami drama to rise instead.

"Silver Linings Playbook," starring Jennifer Lawrence, is up for Best Picture (Musical/Comedy).
ACTOR (COMEDY/MUSICAL)
Jack Black, âBernie;â Bradley Cooper, âSilver Linings Playbook;â Hugh Jackman, âLes Miz;â Ewan McGregor, âSalmon Fishing in the Yemen;â Bill Murray, âHyde Park on Hudsonâ
They love Murray, but look for the crowd to sing the praises of Jackman, the man from âMiz.â
ACTRESS (COMEDY/MUSICAL)
Emily Blunt, âSalmon Fishing in the Yemen;â Judi Dench, âBest Exotic Marigold Hotel;â Jennifer Lawrence, âSilver Linings Playbook;â Maggie Smith, âQuartet;â Meryl Streep, âHope Springsâ
A win for the sexy and serious âHunger Gamesâ star gives her an Oscar head-start.
BEST TV SERIES (DRAMA)
âBoardwalk Empire,â âBreaking Bad,â âDownton Abbey,â âHomeland,â âThe Newsroomâ
âHomelandâ swept the Emmys, and weâre betting on a similar outcome tonight.

BEST TV MOVIE OR MINISERIES
âGame Change,â âThe Girl,â âHatfields & McCoys,â âThe Hour, â âPolitical Animalsâ
HBOâs âGame Changeâ will win. Itâs already on a streak: five Emmys this season.
BEST ACTOR IN A TV SERIES (DRAMA)
Steve Buscemi, âBoardwalk Empire;â Bryan Cranston, âBreaking Bad;â Jeff Daniels, âThe Newsroom;â Jon Hamm, âMad Men;â Damian Lewis, âHomelandâ
Damian Lewis ... although we think Bryan Cranston deserves it more.

BEST ACTOR, TV SERIES (COMEDY)
Alec Baldwin, â30 Rock;â Don Cheadle, âHouse of Lies;â Louis C.K., âLouie;â Matt LeBlanc, âEpisodes;â Jim Parsons, âThe Big Bang Theoryâ

For the win: Claire Danes. Period.
BEST ACTRESS IN A TV SERIES (COMEDY)
Zooey Deschanel, âNew Girl;â Julia Louis-Dreyfus, âVeep;â Lena Dunham, âGirls;â Tina Fey, â30 Rock;â Amy Poehler, âParks and Recreationâ
Why not Amy Poehler? She is hosting the show! But so is Fey. Can they share?
BEST ACTOR IN A MINISERIES OR TV MOVIE
Kevin Costner, âHatfields & McCoys;â Benedict Cumberbatch, âSherlock;â Woody Harrelson, âGame Change;â Toby Jones, âThe Girl;â Clive Owen, âHemingway & Gellhorn.â
Harrelson, âcause heâs more popular â" but Benedict Cumberbatch could snatch it away.
BEST ACTRESS IN A MINISERIES OR TV MOVIE
Julianne Moore, âGame Change;â Nicole Kidman, âHemingway & Gellhorn;âJessica Lange, âAmerican Horror Story: Asylum;â Sienna Miller, âThe Girl;â Sigourney Weaver, âPolitical Animalsâ
Julianne Moore. No one except Sarah Palin can argue that she did an amazing job channeling, er, Sarah Palin.
