Actor J.D. Cerna in 'Not as Cute as a Picture''

J.D. Cerna stars in 'Not as Cute as Picture,' his acclaimed solo show about an aspiring actor.

HIS ‘PICTURE’ IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS. J.D. Cerna will open in “Not as Cute as Picture,” his comic, one-man show about an aspiring movie star, tonight and Saturday at the Duplex. He plays 20 characters as he recalls his adventures as a bartender, cruise-ship chorus boy and a porn editor. His tour de force earned him a GLAAD Media Award nomination in Washington D.C. ‘SACRE’-BLEW. French choreographer David Wampach presents “Sacre,” his take on Vaslav Nijinsky’s “The Rite of Spring,” at the Invisible Dog Art Center. GO TIME AT THE APOLLO. Broadway star Maurice Hines and fellow cast members of “Apollo Club Harlem” will chat about their upcoming revue.
